It is so hard to fit in fitness!
Number one most important point in beginning a fitness routine is to make it fun and something you enjoy! If you enjoy walking but it's too cold outside then go to the mall and walk. Most shopping malls are open to the public early for walking. If you enjoy dancing most dance studios offer ballroom dancing classes. What a great way to exercise and it's all the rage!
I have seen hundreds upon hundreds of well meaning people start a fitness routine only to quit within weeks or months. Most people forget that it took them years and years to get out of shape. When they start exercising they want immediate results.
The best way to fitness is slow and steady. Do not over do the exercise and do not over diet. When I was personal training I preferred my customers to start an exercise program and not diet for at least a couple of months. I had my customers start a food journal. Document the time you eat and what you eat. Food journals are great tools for discovering weaknesses.
Soon I will start teaching Zumba... this will be a hard under-taking for me since I was recently diagnosed with cancer! I have severe nerve damage to one leg/foot and I have to force the leg/foot to do what I want it to do! But I am determined!
